Versions & rollback
In one sentence
Every time you edit an approved template, MsgBuddy saves it as a new version and sends that version for review — while your current approved version keeps working, so you never lose a live message.
Why versions exist
An approved template is locked so its wording can’t change behind Meta’s back. But you’ll still want to improve wording over time. Versions square that circle:
- Your live version keeps sending while the new one is reviewed.
- If the new version is approved, it takes over.
- If it’s rejected, your old version is untouched — no downtime.
Only one version is active at a time. Approving a new version deactivates the previous one, but the history is kept so you can compare wordings or roll back.
Comparing and rolling back
From a template’s page you can:
- Compare versions to see exactly what changed.
- Roll back to a previously approved version if a new one isn’t working out.
Before a big campaign, don’t tweak your proven template on a whim. If you must change it, create the new version early so it has time to get approved — and keep the old one as a safety net to roll back to.
How this connects
- Versioning is why approval happens “per version”.
- Rolling back is handy if a new version’s quality slips.
